SAVE THE DATE. If you’re in town attending the first-ever Vogue Knitting Live in NYC this January 21 – 23, be sure to visit the Lion Brand Yarn Studio! You can either stop by our booth in the marketplace OR stop by the store in person!
Option #1: stop by the Lion Brand Yarn Studio booth at the Vogue Knitting Live marketplace. We’ll have yarns to sample, raffles, free demos, book signings, designer Q&As, and MORE — all to give you a taste of the kind of amazing things we do at the Studio itself. Check your Vogue Knitting Live guide for all the details, but just to give you a sneak peek, here are some of the things that will be happening at the LBYS booth (we’ll be booth #1808-1810):
- Book signings with designers like Lily Chin, Edie Eckman, and Nicky Epstein
- FREE demos of techniques like Tunisian simple stitch, magic loop, Russian join, and so much more
- Interactive interviews with designers like Judy Sumner and Melanie Falick
- Raffles with ALL of the designers making appearances at our booth
- Live recordings of the YarnCraft podcast — be a part of our popular radio-style show!
- Special discounts for placing web orders at the booth OR get a coupon to use in person at LBYS (see option #2!!).
Option #2: stop by the Studio itself. If you’re making a special trip into town for Vogue Knitting Live, we hope you’ll stop by LBYS too. We’re open from 10 am to 3 pm on Friday the 21st, so you can stop by the Studio, then do a little shopping or take a coffee break (there’s a ton of great shopping near us!), then stop by the Vogue Knitting Live marketplace at 5 pm! We’re also open on Sunday the 23rd, from noon to 5 pm, making us a good place to stop by in between classes at Vogue Knitting.
If you’ve never been in the area before, here how you do it….
…by subway, it’s a 12-minute ride on the F train; train trips are $2.25 each. Simply walk out of the Studio and make a left. Walk to the corner (Avenue of the Americas, aka 6th Ave.) and turn right. Walk one block (north), and on the corner is the uptown F train station. Take the F train to the 57th Street station. Get out, walk south (the street numbers will get smaller) until you see the Hilton New York on your right (west) between 55th and 54th Streets. (The reverse will work too. Just remember that we’re on 15th Street between 5th and 6th Aves.) Click here to see it on Google maps.
…by taxi, hail a cab (available cabs will have only the middle light on top of the car on) and let them know that you’re going to 6th Avenue and 54th Street for the Hilton. It should be about a 15 minute car ride and be just around $10 without tip. (For the reverse trip, you can hail a taxi at the Hilton–the doormen should be able to help you–and tell the taxi that you’re going to 15th Street, between 5th and 6th Avenues. Save a few minutes by going to 15th Street and 6th Avenue, then turn right onto 15th Street and walk the half a block to the store.)
Either way, we hope to see you during Vogue Knitting Live weekend! It’s sure to be a fun and yarn-filled weekend!
