Welcome back to the feature where we highlight our staff’s favorite places to visit in the neighborhood we know and love! (See our first installment here.) We like to DIY with lots of supplies in addition to our yarn, and so today we’re sharing arts & crafts stores you’ll enjoy discovering on a side trip when you visit the Lion Brand Yarn Studio.
The City Quilter is an international destination for fabric and fiber lovers of all types. Besides having the largest selection of quilting cottons, gadgets, threads, felting wools, embroidery threads and accessories in the city, it is a home away from home for the city’s best fiber artists and quilters, some of whom work and teach at the shop. Their classes are well-priced and the teachers are incredible. Be sure to check out their collection of NYC-themed fabric – prints include subway maps, sketches of the city skyline, old New York, and more!
