Welcome back to the feature where we highlight our staff’s favorite places to explore in the neighborhood we know and love! Make the most of summer in NYC by eating your meals outside! The city is full of patios and gardens where you can enjoy a bite – here are a few of our favorites, all just a short walk away from Lion Brand Yarn Studio.
Petite Abeille offers an interesting, simple menu and delightful drinks. Come for delicious home-style Belgian food in a cute and cozy space, with a fireplace in cold weather and a garden in warm. Brunch here is especially popular! Try the croquet madame, waffles, or smoked salmon eggs benedict. Belgian beers are half price on Mondays, and bottles of wine are half price on Tuesdays – enjoy!

Montmarte boasts a gorgeous outdoor space, with two levels of seating, a bar, and an herb garden. One of our staff members enjoys “petite assiettes” (small plates) and wine in the garden as a particularly lovely way to end the day. Happy hour starts at 5pm, and Montmarte is open for dinner every night, weekend brunch, and lunch on Friday. The burgers in this contemporary French-inspired bistro come highly recommended.

Tarallucci E Vino offers Italian cuisine and understated elegance. We appreciate how close it is to Union Square, and it’s great for people watching! There are just a few tables on the sidewalk in front of this restaurant, so try to get there on an off time if you want to sit outdoors. Enjoy the seasonal menu and excellent wine pairings whether you sit inside or out.
