Don’t let the Summer heat beat your crafting time! Over the months of June & July the LBY Studio will be hosting 3 workshops. More detail on each class theme is below!

Lace Basics

Thursday June 20^th, 6-8pm — $50

If you’ve mastered scarves and blankets, and
even a hat or two, why not make lace knitting your next step?! Lace and summer
go hand-in-hand, since all of the decorative holes make for a breezy fabric. This
workshop will show you how to combine increases and decreases to create
delicate patterns, and introduce you to reading a chart as well.

Required skills – cast on, knit, purl, bind off, work a basic increase and decrease without supervision.

Knitting Doctor

Thursday, July 18^th, 6-8pm — $50

The perfect class to help you out of any
knitting jam! This workshop is great for beginners who have taken our Knitting
2 class, or know how to knit and purl. Darrin will guide you through picking up
a dropped stitch, “tinking” (aka unknitting), and how to read your knitting so
you can recognize a mistake before you’ve gone too far.

Required skills – cast on, knit, purl, and bind off without supervision.

Hand Spinning Fiber

Monday, July 22^nd, 5-8pm — $60

If you’ve been curious about spinning, but
don’t want to invest in a wheel just yet, test the waters with drop spinning!
With a simple tool and some fiber you can be making your own custom-blend yarn
in just a few hours. After you’ve spun some of the provided acrylic fiber,
you’ll learn how to wind it into a skein and set the twist so it will be ready
to use right away – or marinate in the stash while you find just the perfect
project for it!
