    There is also the chain two and crochet into the first chain as many times as needed method.

    Thank you …. that worked great! I’ve been making lots of hats, and I always had to go back at the end, filling in the hole at the top with extra finishing stitches . It looks much bette this way.

    Which method would you suggest when making the Lion brand patter “Kew Garden Afghan? I am new to crochet.

    The magic ring is my preferred method. I discovered it about two years ago when I was crocheting baby booties and the pattern cold for making a magic ring. I had to look it up.
