Friday, September 3rd, 2010
Share your skills with someone in need this year – Our Warm Up America window is here!
Join Lion Brand Yarn Studio* and the nationwide network of crocheters and knitters who are helping to Warm Up America!
From now through the end of November we will be collecting 7″ by 9″ afghan blocks. The blocks will be on display in our window until the end of November.
Come by Sunday Dec. 12th from noon – 4:00 pm for a joining party to make the blocks into colorful patchwork afghans to be donated to people in need through shelters, hospitals and social service agencies.
All blocks must be dropped off in person to *:
Lion Brand Yarn Studio
34 W. 15th Street
New York
We have collected 40 blocks already! To read all about Warm Up America, find patterns & how to get your 20% off thank you coupon, click here.

As usual, the window is a visual feast with lots of fun details to watch out for. Look carefully at Lady Liberty’s crown, can you tell what it’s made of? (hint: both knitting and crochet is represented) Her hair and the base of her crown is Lion Wool.

The base of her torch is crocheted from Lion Wool and the flames are crocheted from Vanna’s Glamour.

Even her sandals need a little yarny love!

America has never looked better then it does knit up as a giant afghan. Come by to admire the different stitch patterns for each state . . .

Gives a whole new meaning to America the Beautiful!
