Nathan Vincent: A Fascinating Glimpse Into An Artist’s Life
By MICHELLE

Last Thursday evening we had the pleasure of welcoming artist Nathan Vincent as our monthly special event guest.
Those Studio regulars who aren’t familiar with the name should at least be familiar with the dazzling art installation that has graced our gallery wall for the past month and a half. Specially commissioned for the Studio, the lion, gazelle and bushbuck heads are in keeping with Nathan’s unique style of creating traditionally masculine objects with a traditionally feminine art form.

It was a fascinating lecture, as Nathan took us through his beginnings as an artist, his role models and inspirations,

the path he took to creating his current body of work, and his plans for the future.

After the event Nathan took time to chat with attendees and answer more questions,

and everyone had a chance to look up close at some pieces that he’d brought along.

Watch his site for info about his upcoming projects, including a Lion Brand sponsored show that will be coming up in October at Portlock Galleries at SoNo in Norfolk, VA.
Visit Nathan’s website for more information about this extremely talented artist, and to see more of his unique pieces.
