Using the lovely silk mohair that Mr. Blumenthal showed us when he came to the Westchester Knitting Guild, I made this short shawl based on the pattern called “Civil War shawl” by Suzanne Pufpaff, in the 2001 winter Cast On mag. I used a edging design from The Knitters Stash book, page 22, by Donna Kay. It took 2 skeins of the LB Silk Mohair in sunset color.

Lily Chin: Reversible Cables

Learn Lily’s latest methods of creating cables on both sides of a fabric.  These include fully moving and expanding cables across whole surfaces (i.e. not just the same old vertical rope cables).  These are similar to “traveling stitches” and each side need not be the same!  Then become familiar with a unique, 2-colored, vertically pinstriped reversible cable effect.  You must experience them to believe them.  Get a sneak peak at Lily in action on You Tube.

WIPs (works in progress), UFOs (Unfinished Objects). We all have them, stalled projects on our hooks and needles. Let us “unstall you”. Whether it’s an instruction on the pattern you don’t understand, a mistake you don’t know how to correct, or just a project you don’t like anymore, let us help you get to binding off. As an additional incentive to move on to something new, receive 10% off yarn purchased that day for a new project.

If you have a project you’ve been wanting to start but need a little help before you dive in?  Come by with the pattern and we will get you started.

How it works:

Come by the Studio on Friday July 9th with your project.  We will assign you a “Jumpstart Specialist” and a time to meet with him/her.  Knit, Crochet, Entrelac, Cable, Lace, Intarsia, Fair Isle, Sweaters, Socks, Hats–you name it, we will help you with it.

Appointment slots are 20 minutes each, and will be assigned on a first-come-first-served basis.
