World Wide Knit in Public Day (WWKIP Day) starts this Saturday, June 11th and goes all week long. Open to yarncrafters of all kinds, this celebration lets knitters and crocheters of all kinds share their love of fiber arts.
Though Lion Brand Yarn Studio is closed on Saturday, we’d love for you to join in the fun!
How can I join in?
- Click here to search www.wwkipday.com for a KIP (Knit in Public) group in your area.
- Click here to RSVP to the WWKIP Facebook event (and while you’re there, why not stop by and “like” the LBYS Facebook page!)
- Celebrate crafting with a visit to the Renegade Craft Fair, June 11th & 12th in McCarren Park, Brooklyn.
- Click here to read a post on the Lion Brand Notebook that has tips on how you can show your yarncrafter pride.
I’ll be spending the weekend helping out on a friend’s film set. As far as I know, I’ll be there only yarncrafter there — but maybe WWKIP Day will inspire some “closeted” yarncrafters there to bring out their hooks or needles!
Where will you be on WWKIP Day? Do you have any tips for ways to celebrate in the NYC area? Tell us in the comments!
