Our Neighborhoods: Union Square

The Union Square neighborhood and its centerpiece, Union Square Park, is a beautiful part of the city just a few short blocks north of the Village. This area is named for the  union of the national railroad and is home to Metronome, one of the largest private commissions of public art. The park also features many notable sculptures including the equestrian statue of George Washington by Henry Kirke Brown, The Marquis de La Fayette, The James Fountain, and the sculpture of Mohandas Gandhi.

For information on current news and events in this neighborhood, we recommend that you visit the Union Square Partnership website here.
