Take a Look at What the LBYS Staff is Working on this Spring!

“Spring cleaning” is the perfect excuse to finish up those lingering Works-In-Progress and get your hooks and needles ready for a brand-new summer of crafting fun! We’re no different – take a look at what the LBYS staff has been working on these past few months!


Shira angora tam small

Shira just crocheted the Angora Tam in LB Collection® Angora Merino. She finished it on a recent trip to Paris and she’s been wearing it proudly ever since!


 Grace shawl 2 small

Grace is working on a Westport Shawl  in her very own hand-dyed Lion Brand yarn. Look at those colors!!!

If you’re interested in learning to dye yarn for your own fantastic spring shawl, take one of our dyeing classes! Our next session is Kitchen-Safe Yarn Dyeing on July 28th, from 3-5 p.m.


Arabia cowl

Arabia just finished a gorgeous cowl out of Fettuccini® yarn! Her pattern is super-simple: cast on 8 stitches on size 35 needles, knit every row, and seam the ends!


Claire bag 1 small

 Claire is working on the Felted Tribal Bag in several colors of Fishermen’s Wool®, including a few (yellow and grey) that her sister dyed for her! For other options, choose any 100% wool yarn in a similar gauge, like Martha Stewart Crafts™ Merino!

 New to felting? Try our Cobweb Lace Felting class on July 26th from 2-5 p.m. – everyone goes home with a finished scarf!


Will socks 1

Will is pampering a friend of his with the softest-ever Noviembre socks made out of LB Collection® Cashmere!

Want to try your hand at socks? Take our Two at a Time Socks (Toe Up) workshop on June 19th, or, if you’re a crocheter, Crochet Socks, beginning July 21st!


Gretchen sleeve

Gretchen is getting a head-start on next winter with a Pohjan Neito sweater! She’s using Fishermen’s Wool® and a clever shortcut: her “swatch” is actually her first sleeve!

    Thanks for sharing all your projects! I especially would love to knit Arabia’s Zpagettie cowl.
    Can you tell me how long it is and how many skeins of yarn were used?

      Hi Mary! Arabia’s cowl was made with one ball of Zpagetti, and was about 45″ x 8″ after blocking. Arabia wanted us to mention, however, that she used one of the stretchier fabrics. Each ball of Zpagetti is a little bit different, and the elasticity of the fabric will affect your ability to block it vigorously. Best to buy two balls just to be safe, and stop knitting when you’re happy with the length. Can’t wait to see what you work up!
