Melissa Morgan Oakes – Toe Up 2-at-a-Time Socks
What could be better then socks knitted 2-at-a-Time? Why 2-at-a-Time socks knitted from the toes to the top, of course! Now there’s no “second sock syndrome”, and you can build your socks from the toes up – no yarn shortage surprises, you can make a cuff shorter if need be! Under the expert guidance of the creator of this novel knitting method, students will created their own miniature sample socks using the technique outlines in the book Toe Up 2-at-a Time Socks.

Knitting With Wire
Expand your knitting horizons and get wired! Wire is a wonderful, flexible medium to use to make delicate and interesting jewelry. In this class we’ll cover the basics of working with wire and make beautiful but simple pieces that can also be embellished with beads. The class will cover resources and materials and various techniques for successful wire knitting and crochet. Wireworking or jewelry making skill not required but knit and crochet skills necessary.

Does the thought of knitting cables have you totally confused and completely tied up in knots? In this hands-on workshop, explore the basics of this classic knitting technique, from deciphering charts to practicing all sorts of cable crossings. Learn expert tricks to make your cabled fabrics beautiful, not to mention fun and easy to knit!

It’s all in the details! Explore fun and easy ways to work garment shaping with style and finesse. Discover designer tricks, which use full-fashion techniques with figure flattering results.

After wowing Studio students with her wildly popular Sweater Design class, Shirley Paden returns to teach her Lace class that was sold out at Vogue Knitting Live in January:
SHIRLEY PADEN: LACE TECHNIQUES
Beginning with a basic review of the lace structure, in this class students will learn to knit, shape and chart the various types of lace. They will knit sample swatches of both single and double-sided lace patterns and lace borders. They will work through drawing a chart and planning armhole and neckline shaping as well as shaping within a pattern stitch

Edie Eckman: Math For Knitters
This class will take the mystery out of those pesky math calculations you have to do when designing or altering a sweater. Math-phobics are welcome, and you don’t have to raise your hand in class. We will draft a basic sweater and discuss calculating yarn amounts, V-neck shaping, rates of increase/decrease, stitch pattern placement. It will NOT cover sleeve cap shaping.

Edie Eckman: Around the Corner Crochet Borders
Description of Class
Crocheted edgings are useful on so many things. In class, we’ll practice a number of fun and unique crocheted edgings. Learn how to make edgings continue around square corners, incorporating the stitch into the corner shaping for an unbroken pattern. Your afghans will thank you!
