
Verna Nadel: Fisher’s Island Cardigan 2018 CAL.
The Lion Brand Yarn Studio Customer Fashion Show on May 31st was, as always, an inspiring and delightful event! More than 25 projects were proudly displayed by our models, representing hours of work and miles of yarn spent over the past year.
Several members of this winter’s Knit-along (KAL) modeled their Custom Classic Pullovers, showcasing the flexibility of the pattern and creativity of the makers.

Angela Simmons: Long Cardigan – Vogue Knitting Early Fall 2010. Wool Ease Thick and Quick (Cranberry, Charcoal). Ariana embroidered her astrological sign on the pocket!

Patricia Sharper-Roberts: Level 3 Knit Vest
Patricia Sharper-Roberts: Level 3 Knit Vest, Lion’s Pride Woolspun. Love the vest! Patricia to do a gauge swatch and make changes for the # of stitches to cast on. She says, “I’m glad LBYS has Sweater School with Gretchen!”
Kim Woodberry: Flax (Ravelry). Mandala in Unicorn.
Verna Nadel: Saturday Cardigan (LB pattern). Lion’s Pride Woolspun. Verna writes: “I originally completed Level 3 Vest L40190 and didn’t like the way it looked on me. Therefore I ripped the entire vest out and made this cardigan. I changed the seed stitch fronts to the Roman Rib stitch pattern.” A great example of staying open-minded and creative problem-solving!

Anna Leung: Lancaster Pullover

Paul Stark: Top down raglan in 24/7 Cotton, his own design! His biggest takeaway? “Learned good humor!”
Mary McWilliams: Laurie by Josée Paquin, Ravelry. LBC Superwash Merino (Peony). This is a popular sweater pattern knitted in the round. The back yoke is knit first, and then down to armhole. She learned short rows to complete her project.

Christine Morrison: Criss Cross Shrug
Christine Morrison: Criss Cross Shrug pattern, Homespun. Shrug can be worn a number of different ways and is perfectly warm for November and Dececember. Christine says, “I’ve been coming to LBYS for about 4 years and have been learning so much. Thank you!”

Crystal Venable: Transient
Crystal Venable: Crystal maximized her time on the runway by showcasing two projects. She’s wearing an asymmetric knit shawl called Transient by Knit Purl Hunter, which was a knit-along project. Scarfie (Charcoal, Magenta). AND Christian’s hat by Agnes Kutas. Touch of Alpaca in Black.
Jessica Woodberry: Jessica is a Shawl in a Ball superfan! She showcased her South Bay Shawlette, LB pattern. Shawl in a Ball (Peaceful Earth). AND the Wise Hilda Basic Triangle Shawl, Ravelry. Shawl in a Ball (Healing Teal).

Christine Morrison: Misty Haze Cowl
Christine: Misty Haze Cowl, Shawl in a Ball. She writes: “This yarn is so soft and knits up fast. Can be worn on cool days and anywhere it’s cool inside. Can be worn over the head as a hood, too.”

Alexis Oustinoff: Based on Cecily Glowik MacDonald’s Goodale cardigan.

Patricia: Filet Crochet Top (Arabia’s pattern!)
Patricia: Filet Crochet Top (Arabia’s pattern!) 24/7 Cotton in Magenta. Patricia shares: “I became a tester for Arabia for this pattern for people who wear the medium or large size. Fun, fun fun!”

Kally: Custom Classic Pullover

Kally writes: “For the Custom Classic Pullover: I had taken a class with Gretchen a ways back, she had taught me how to center a pattern on a sweater. This sweater was from this year’s in-studio KAL, modified with a Barbara Walker textured pattern.”
Kim: Custom Classic Pullover, 2018 KAL. Touch of Alpaca Blush and Grey Heather. Kim learned to pick up stitches around the neckline to finish her beautiful KAL project.
