If you’re thinking of taking Ann Budd’s upcoming Master Classes at the Studio, we’ve got some exciting news!
Based on your requests, we’ll be offering a payment plan for each of Ann’s classes! We want to make her wonderful classes as accessible as possible, so for the first time ever we’ll be offering a payment plan to crafters who’d like to pay in installments. Your first payment will serve as a deposit, securing your space in the class. Subsequent payments can be made according to your own schedule, as long as you are paid in full by May 20, when the tuition for Ann’s classes will increase.
For Ann Budd’s ‘A Skirt for All Seasons’ Master Class
For this class, we’ll be offering a payment plan in three installments ($60 deposit, $60 second payment, $55 final payment). Since your spot is reserved with your deposit, you can sign up without needing to pay for the whole class at once!
*Important note if you’d like to use Dyed by Darrin yarn for skirts – please fill out your survey!
Darrin will be dyeing some of our popular bases in “skirt quantities” for this event, so we’ve prepared a survey to learn the yarn weight and color families you’re interested in. We’ll email a link to the survey in your confirmation email, so be sure to click through and let us know your preferences. Please note: this is not custom dyeing, so we cannot guarantee that your choice will be available. Alternatively, you could opt to use Darrin’s existing colors, and make your skirt a fade!
A Skirt for All Seasons | June 24, 10am – 5pm
Ann Budd is on a roll designing skirt patterns. Here’s what she has to say about knitting skirts:
The skirts are designed to have about 2″ of negative ease around the high hips so the skirt hugs you from your waist to high hips, then the pleats begin well before the full-hip circumference so there’s no awkward “bucket-butt.” Because they’re knitted from the top down, you can customize for the most flattering length. The result is a tailored fit that hangs gracefully and looks good on all body types. It’s a little-known fact that skirts are easier to fit than sweaters and take less time than a sweater in the same weight yarn.
With just three or four skeins of sock yarn, you’ll have a ‘pleated’ skirt with a perfect fit, whatever your size. You’ll learn to take proper waist & hip measurements, and combine them with your gauge, so you will take a personalized pattern home with you!
Some comments from Ravelers about Ann’s skirts:
- “It was truly amazing how this skirt looked great on ANY figure.”
- “It’s a much faster knit than I expected.”
- “GREAT LITTLE SKIRT! Love how it looks and feels when worn.”
- “Ann walked us through a worksheet to determine pleat numbers and width and dart increases. It was a fun and interesting process!”
- “Inspired by a full-day custom skirt class with Ann Budd and the success of my first skirt.”
