I keep hoping that Lion will come out with a 100% mercerized cotton yarn (1.75 oz/137 yd.) at a reasonable price for the Mochila crochet that I (an many others) have become addicted to. Currently there are only a few options, the most economical being ordering from overseas. And the colors are SO rich!

I had never heard of Mochila crochet; so, of course, looked it up and loved it. I am getting ready to open an Etsy shop and bags made with this, which is so eye catching, should sell well!

I agree, Evelyn, that if you have Mochila crochet bags in your Etsy shop, it should be a real hit! However, as you probably know, 100% mercerized cotton is a necessity. Lion Brand could be my go-to if they carried it (at a reasonable cost). Paton’s Grace is an acceptable yarn, but usually overpriced and not nearly as nice to work with as Schachenmayr Catania or Sheepjes Catona.

As with everything in the US, it is overpriced. Your offer may be everything you say, but if I can not afford to buy it, what good does it bring and how much profit can you make? This is why I buy my yarn from the UK. Not because I want to, it is affordable even with the shipping. Wake up US merchants. The internet has made us smarter comsummers.

Thank you, Charlene, for the UK tip. I am always looking to save money on yarn that is good quality.

Thank you, Charlene. I had no idea I could save money by ordering from the UK. I love working with good quality yarn but cannot afford it as often as I would like. Do you have a favourite website? Thanks again. This tip is very helpful

I hope I can see this in my local stores soon. On the website, the skein pictures for “Wading pool” and “Cloud Nine” are pictures of the same skein. I can’t see in the little thumbnail enough detail. I wish we could enlarge those as well.
