This summer we will be hosting a new community crafting group: Knitting Without Borders. Jennie will lead us in making knit & crochet bears for people in need – she’s an expert and can whip out a bear in an hour! Check out all the bears her group the NYU Naughty Knitters made in the photo above. This is a great way to use up leftover bits of yarn and if you’ve just learned to knit or crochet these bears require only beginner skills. Click here for the patterns. Bears measure about 6″ – 8″ tall, so they don’t take long to make. Since they will be given to small children, embellishments should be sewn on and not made of anything that could be a choking hazard.
The group will meet Thursday evenings 6:00 – 8:00 pm, June 22, July 20, & August 17.
