Two more new yarns are now in stock at our Studio, Rewind & ZZ Twist. The unique textures of these fibers will transform your favorite patterns by highlighting stitches in a different way. Plus, these yarns already have fun patterns available, so we’re sharing a handful below. Read on for details, to check out the patterns, and visit our Manhattan Studio to feel them in person.
Rewind is right no matter the season, and the first 8 colors are definitely on-trend. Whether you’re looking for bright, or contemporary neutral, you’ll find it with Rewind. If you’ve always thought of tape yarn as a novelty material, Rewind will change your mind! Grab a skein for sweaters, and accessories, or whip up home decor projects like pillows or throws. With each 3.5oz skein you’ll have 242yd of yarn to work with. It’s a 5 Bulky weight yarn, which you’ll be able to machine wash, and lay flat to dry.
Patterns for Rewind
If you like to crochet, you’ll love these two new crochet patterns for Rewind. The Pensacola Bag (Crochet) is the perfect summer beach accessory. Two sturdy straps fit nicely over your shoulder, and you can fill the bucket bag with all your vacation-vibe gear. The Cos Cob Cowl (Crochet) is surprisingly nice even in warm weather, because of the lightweight feel and open work style.
Knitters will have a few more patterns to choose from, like the beautiful Camden Cardigan (Knit) below. It’s a Level 2 pattern, available in a variety of sizes (make sure you check the pattern before purchasing your yarn). Pull this comfy cardi over all your summer looks.
For another lightweight-yet-cozy summer sweater option, how about the Santa Monica Pullover (Knit)? It’s worked in one piece with big needles, so you’ll be casting it off quickly. You’ll love the feel of Rewind stitched up this way. Another easy project to take on vacation is the Easy Lace Shawl (Knit). Rewind highlights the striping open weave of this pattern in such a lovely way!
For another new textured yarn to try, ZZ Twist is also available now in our Studio. The name comes from the ‘Z’ twist with which the yarn is spun – the same direction the yarn wraps around a crochet hook. If you’re a crocheter, you’ll love how easy it is to use, and the tightness of the stitches you can achieve. Not to mention, great stitch definition! It also has a wonderful drape that knitters will appreciate. This fiber is 100% Acrylic, so you can machine wash & dry. Each 4 Medium weight skein is 3.5oz and measures 246yd.
Patterns for ZZ Twist
For crocheters interested in feeling this ‘Z’ twist for themselves, we’ve got three patterns in mind. The Chelsea Hat (Crochet) is a cute, quick toque, which will take just one skein of ZZ Twist. And how cute is the San Diego Cowl (Crochet)? You can really see the lovely stitch definition in this pattern. For anyone planning to visit our Manhattan Studio, you can see this cowl in our new front table display! Lastly, the Surf Side Top (Crochet) was a big hit as a part of our summer style campaign. The unique neckline is crafted separately, and then the band, front, and back are seamed together.
For knitters who want to feel the lovely drape of ZZ Twist, look at the two patterns pictured below. The Driftwood Shawl (Knit) is a gorgeous colorwork project, which will beautifully complete any look. And the Trulia Cowl (Knit) is light enough to wear in the summer, but will also transition into fall. The Peacock blue color is a classic jewel tone that works all year long. You can get a sense of the drape just from the photo!
