This past Sunday, 25 lucky knitters had their minds blown–and their knitting vocabulary expanded–by the wonderful Melissa Leapman.

Melissa’s morning Master Class* was “Cable Ready,” and boy, did it get us ready! Not only did first-time and long-time cablers learn a ton of new tricks, but also we got to try our hands at two-color cables. This trick is much simpler than it seems and creates an amazing fabric!

The afternoon Master Class was “Fully Fashioned and Fabulous,” where we learned all about fully fashioned shaping. Increases and decreases are more then just functional; they can also be beautiful design elements. Knowing how to control these lovely left slants and right slants can give our knitwear more attractive shapes.
