Kelly Fleek is an accomplished creator of sculpture, painting, textiles, installation projects and music. Her work is the sum of a love affair with the commonality in the smallest and largest elements of life.
The selection currently on display in the Studio is from the series ‘Nature Drag’ and embodies wearing nature and being a part of nature. These pieces reflect Fleek’s interpretation of the natural forms that lie within us and surround us. Her work is designed to activate our minds and remind us of the deep, abiding connection all people share with their surroundings. Kelly Fleek lives in the Pacific Northwest in a converted barn with her husband and two teenage daughters.
Love the wonderful use of color and form in these creations! Looking forward to seeing more from this artist.
Simply amazing and wonderful artform! Kelly is sure to be the new up and coming artist, looking for more of her work.
These are unbelivably beautiful!!!!!!!!!1 Is she going to have patterns for crochet hats available???????????
So glad you like them! Since these large sculptural items are fine art pieces, there are no patterns available; however, if you like whimsical hat patterns, try searching on Ravelry for some of the great options out there!
How do you guys choose fiber artists for your wall installations?
Hi there, we sometimes contact fiber artists whose work we admire; we also receive proposals from fiber artists who are familiar with our space. Then, based on the parameters of our space, we work with selected fiber artists to either choose an existing piece that fits our gallery wall or to create a new piece for the space. The art piece is changed several times a year, and we love highlighting diverse pieces that showcase the many facets of fiber art. For more photos of past installations, click on the “Store Gallery” link that drops down under “Planning Your Visit” on our top navigation bar.
If you have specific questions, would like to submit your portfolio, or would like to recommend someone, please feel free to email us at studio@lionbrand.com!
