Last Thursday, as a Tornado was touching down in Brooklyn and Queens, in Manhattan, we had our very own force of nature visit us. The one of a kind Lily Chin was on hand to dazzle us all with her Power Cables.
Of course there were plenty of garments on hand to ooh and ahh over, as well as swatches of every cable project in the book!
Lily walked us through the whole book, explaining her amazing new (but super simple) new cable charting system.
The really mind blowing stuff came when Lily got into her reversible cables. Note the color on the above sweater. The cable has NO wrong side. Crazy cool!
As if that wasn’t enough . . . Melissa Leapman joined us on Sunday to teach us Two Color Double Knitting and Nifty Necklines.
The morning began with color . . . on BOTH sides. I’m talking about Double Knitting of course.
After some ah ha moments . . .
we were making two color double knitting. SOOO cool! As a special treat, our students got a sneak peek at Melissa’s brand new book (coming out in November 9th), Mastering Color Knitting.
The afternoon brought Nifty Necklines. It was a fantastic class all about how to shape your necklines, by working your stitch patterns right into the shaping, NO picking up stitches!!
There were some beautiful necklines going on!
