If you have a handle on the basics of knitting, you may be looking for some new skills to develop your craft further. We have several classes coming up that will help you do that — Intarsia Basics, Blocking and Finishing, Cable Basics, and Intro to Knitting in the Round. Give them a shot, and you’ll be making all sorts of beautiful (and slightly more advanced) projects in no time! You may even be able to work some of these skills into your holiday gifts.
Learn to master multiple color knitting, and working with bobbins and charts. You will learn tips and tricks to make this wonderful colorwork technique easier, and conquer the basics of intarsia at the same time! You can make myriad designs and patterns if you know how to do color knitting. Check out this workshop and you’ll be on your way to making amazing colorful pieces!

Blocking and Finishing for Knitters
This 2 session class combines two of our core classes into one practical exploration of the principles of blocking and finishing a garment. Students will knit swatches to block in session one, gaining valuable practical experience in this mysterious and often misunderstood step. We will also discuss the several different methods for blocking yarns with various fiber contents, as well as when to block (or not.)
The first class will focus on blocking, and in week 2 we will return to our blocked and dry swatches to learn seaming techniques for garter, stockinette, vertical, horizontal and hybrid seams and picking up stitches. Students should bring any projects or patterns they have finishing questions about.

Cable Knitting Basics
Cables look impressive and are easier than you think! This workshop covers basics like how to use a cable needle, read a cable pattern or chart, how to make cables that twist to the left or the right, common cable terms and abbreviations.

Intro to Knitting in the Round
In this technique class you will learn casting on & joining in the round on one and two circular needles, double pointed needles & magic loop. In-the-round secrets revealed such as: how to convert a flat pattern to in the round and how to gauge swatch for an in the round project. You’ll be ready to make hats, cowls, gloves, and even seamless sweaters in no time.
