Entrelac is a unique textured stitch which gives the appearance of a basket weave. Unlike most textured stitches, Entrelac lends itself well to colorwork. This stitch is often done with variegated yarns that have long repeats between colors (such as the scarf shown on the left made with Amazing® yarn). Once you have learned this technique you can experiment with it in variety of ways such as felting it to create and argyle pattern or making a project that is knit in the round.
Entrelac is deceptively easy to do and only requires the ability to knit, purl, and do K2tog and P2tog stitches. In two short classes taught by LBYS staffer Gretchen you will be able to master this technique!
