Have you ever had trouble figuring out what size to knit, or have a sweater not quite fit you right? What about seeing a pattern you like, but wishing it had a crew neck instead of a v-neck?
A sweater design class is not just for would be designers, it’s for anyone who wants to knit a pattern and have it fit. Once you learn the math behind your favorite patterns, you can adjust them to fit you perfectly.
Stitch and row gauge are the foundation of all good fit. If you don’t match the gauge in a pattern, all is not lost. Sometimes NOT matching the gauge can get you the best fit. What if your sweater pattern jumped from a chest size of 36″ to 44″, but you were really hoping for a chest size of 40″. That’s when a different gauge yarn can be the perfect solution . . . once you know how to use those numbers.
If you match the stitch gauge, but get a different row gauge, you can learn what parts of your sweater pattern needs to be altered and how to do it.
Don’t knit another sweater that doesn’t fit!
