If you’ve spent a little time in the world of crochet, then chances are you’ve heard of Sharon Silverman. Sharon’s work has been featured… well, everywhere! Her articles, patterns, and profiles about her have been published hundreds of times, not to mention her books. She is the author of 17 crochet books, exploring everything from Tunisian crochet, to wall hangings, to what she’s probably best known for: gorgeous garments. Her teaching and writing take her all over the country, and we’re thrilled that she’ll be joining us at our Manhattan Studio for a special book event on Thursday, December 6.
Sharon Silverman: ‘Delicate Crochet’

Sharon Silverman
Sharon’s creative imagination seems boundless, carrying her into a wide variety of projects. Not only does she create patterns and write about many techniques, she also teaches all over the country (and on YouTube). She’s also been known to create bespoke art installations, from yarn bombing to wall hangings, on commission.
For her latest book, Delicate Crochet, she’s curated a collection of patterns that highlight just how exquisite crochet can be. Her fascination with the ephemeral quality that crochet can achieve has led to pieces you’ll just have to see to believe. Luckily, she’ll be bringing all the garments with her to the event! You’ll have a chance to see and feel all these creations, and ask questions about them.
We have some lovely new yarns that will work perfectly for Sharon’s patterns. We’ll put together a Lion Brand yarn substitution guide as a companion to the book. This guide will also serve as a coupon to use for purchase of any of the recommended yarns, so you can make your own delicate crochet garments.
Join us on Thursday, December 6 at 6:00 pm for this event.
