Last Thursday the Lion Brand Yarn Studio was filled with 65 knitters waiting to hear Connie Chang Chinchio talk about her wonderful new book, Textured Stitches.

Connie’s designs are a beautiful mix of classic lines, light weight beautiful yarns, and stunning stitch patterns. When she came to the LBYS, she brought plenty of garments for us to examine up close – we knitters can’t get enough of hands-on learning! The LB Collection Cashmere head band featured in the book is a quick-to-make elegant project that was a particular favorite of the evening.

Connie told us about what it was like creating Textured Stitches and the process of going from idea to finished book. She shared details about each piece and a little bit about how each one was made. We were especially delighted by the story of how the Sunny Shawl was named after her newborn daughter!

We oohed and ahhed over the beautiful sweaters, and Connie chatted with knitters while signing stacks of books. It was a lovely evening full of laughter, stories, and a lot of gorgeous stitch patterns.
