I love to make knitted flowers, they’re great stash busters and you can do so many things with them. I like to embellish hats and bags, and I’ve been known to put them on gifts instead of bows, or add pins and give them as gifts themselves! I have a whole knitted bouquet in my knitting area that never wilts. The perfect instant gratification project, knit a flower in a couple of hours. Be careful though, once you start it’s hard to stop!
In this class you’ll learn to make I-cord, knit in the round on double pointed needles and do simple increases and decreases. Most people are familiar with I-cord as an edging technique made with the French Knitter, but we’ll start on two DPNs and our flower will bloom into circular knitting from the end of our I-cord stem!
We’ll make an Arum Lily and small leaf in class. Other knitted flower patterns will be available for students to look at and we’ll go over assembly and finishing techniques for different designs.
