We are super excited to have engaged knitting legend Ann Budd, to come teach Knitting Steeks and Inserting Zippers, on Sunday May 22 from 10:00 – 5:30.
Ann Budd was the influential senior editor of Interweave Knits for many years. Her “Grand Plan” articles in the magazine led to the “Knitter’s Handy Book” book series of patterns for multiple gauges and sizes which empowers knitters to make anything they want with any yarn available. She went on to write the “Style” series (“Bag Style”, “Wrap Style”, “Color Style” and more), 5 books about socks including the widely recommended, classic introduction “Getting Started Knitting Socks” and her latest “New Directions in Sock Knitting” as well as numerous other books and editorial compilations.
Ann also teaches workshops and retreats nationally and internationally, where her clear, friendly teaching style demystifies techniques for both novice and experienced knitters alike. In Knitting Steeks & Inserting Zippers students will learn to set up and knit steek stitches, secure and cut them open and install a zipper on the edge. Ann Budd rarely teaches in NY, so if you’ve been curious to learn about steeking don’t miss this stellar opportunity to conquer one of knitting’s most daunting techniques with one of the craft’s most experienced teachers.
